Obituary
Mr. Elirse "Maurice" Ray, 86, of Bloomingdale, passed away on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at his home.
Mr. Ray was born in Glennville to the late Elirse Stille Ray & Zanada Durrence Ray. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Vinetta Woods Ray, and a grandson, Mitchell Stanton Deal. He was a member of South Newington Baptist Church. He retired from Union Camp after 40 years of service, and also was employed with Western Auto in Garden City for 10 years. He loved horses, eating fried fish, and had a great sense of humor.
Survivors include his children and their spouses, Roger & Julie Ray, Carlton & Holly Ray, Linda & Dale Smith, Maureen Ray, Carolyn & Mark Jones; grandchildren, Glenda Criswell, Whitney Ray, Pam Ray Motes, Heather Ray Murphy, Brooke Ray Jacobs, Adam Deal, Tori Nicole Mattia, Alana Ray, Misty Stenmark, and Michael Jones, and their spouses; 17 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Funeral: 1 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery.
