Rincon – Elizabeth Delane Hightower Hand, 79, passed away June 18, 2026.
The Chatham County native moved to Rincon several years ago to live with her sister and attended the Rincon Church of God. She retired from State Farm after 35 years of service, she enjoyed volunteering at various charities, ministries, and Head Start. She could be seen driving her candy apple red Miata that she dearly loved.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Guss Will Hightower, Sr. and Frances Jordan Hightower; husband, Thomas Edsel Hand, Sr.; and brother, Guss Will Hightower, Jr.
She is survived by her son, Ed Hand (Alanna); grandchildren, Micheal Duchesne (Laura) and Gabriel Dylan Hand; great-grandchildren, Benjamin Thomas Duchesne and Gabrielle Lilliana Duchesne; sister, Sharyn Lynes; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Monday, June 22, 2026 at the funeral home chapel.
