Elizabeth "Betty" Eitel Gnann
Savannah – Elizabeth "Betty" Eitel Gnann, passed away peacefully at home Thursday, March 14, 2013 with her husband by her side.
She worked for the Central of Georgia Railway for many years and retired from the Lancellor Corporation.
She was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church and W.E.L.C.A. Circle Number 3. She was a member of the Candler/St. Joseph's Hospital Auxillary where she worked in the gift shop. She played Bridge with a number of clubs during her lifetime.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Albert O. Gnann, Jr.; a sister, Anne Eitel Krecklow and her husband, Chuck of Charleston, SC; a brother, Charles H. Eitel, Jr. and his wife, Dee of Franklin, VA; a sister-in-law, Gloria Gnann Cochran of Danielsville, GA. Also, Bonnie Oelschig Todd of Longwood, FL, whom she loved as a sister; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Betty possessed a sweet, caring, and gentle nature. Everyone who knew her loved her.
Her memorial service will be held on Monday, March 18, 2013 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 10 West 31st Street, Savannah, GA 31401, conducted by The Reverend Peter J. Hartmann.
A reception in celebration of her life will be held in Hoffman Hall following the service.
Her family wishes to thank her Hospice nurse Kathy Lewis and the staff at Hospice Savannah for their compassionate and living care during her illness.
Memorials may be given to St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 10 West 31st Street, Savannah, GA 31401 or Hospice Savannah, P.O. Box 13190, Savannah, GA 31416.
Burial will be private.
