Mrs. Elizabeth "Libby" Shearouse, 84, of Garden City, GA passed away on Monday, October 9, 2023.

Libby was born in Marlow, GA and had lived in Garden City for many years.  She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Margaret Edwards Barr, her husband, Wayne Shearouse, and brothers, Bernie Barr and Elwin Barr.  She was a member of the Garden City United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school for a number of years.  She retired from Continental Can and served for 26 years as the Executive Assistant at the state capital for Georgia House of Representative Ron Stephens.

Survivors include her brother, Ray Barr (Elayne); sister, Joyce Doonan (Johnny), and several nieces and nephews.

The visitation will be on Saturday, October 14, 2023 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the Garden City United Methodist Church.  The funeral will follow at 11 a.m. in the sanctuary of the church.  The church is located at 62 Varnedoe Avenue.  Burial will follow at Springfield Cemetery.
