Ellen Herbert Coburn
DeLand, FL/Clyo – Ellen Herbert Coburn, 81, was welcomed into the Lord's arms on January 9, 2017. Mom was surrounded by many angels through her years of Alzheimer's, many say it's a dreadful disease, I say it's an opportunity to project unconditional love, many thanks to the last two angels.
The Chatham County native retired from U.S. Civil Service. She was of the Catholic faith and member of St. Peters Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Horace and Beatrice Herbert; and husband, Edward John Coburn.
Survivors include her children, Randy (Sharon) Coburn of DeLand, FL, Joy (Ricky) Wells of Rincon, Mike (Tina) Coburn of Clyo, and Chris (Blandine) Coburn of Guyton; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Evelyn Carey of Port Royal, SC.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Funeral mass will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. Boniface Catholic Church, followed by a lunch.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
