Ellen Marie Brantley

Mrs. Ellen Marie Brantley, 84, passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at St. Joseph’s Hospital.

Marie will be missed by her children, Janie Tomlinson (Mitchell), Lynette Chapelle (Bart), Diane Hamby (Brian), and Frank Brantley, Jr. (Benita); grandchildren, Michael Tomlinson (Jodi), Matthew Tomlinson (Karen), Nick Hamric (Reem), Lauren Hamby, Kristen Hamby, Logan Hamby, Frank Meyer Brantley, III “Trey”, Brandon Brantley, and Aaron McDermitt (fiancé-Brittany); great-grandchildren, Tyler Tomlinson, Ryan Dupree, Rachael Dupree, Annaleigh Tomlinson, Summer Brantley, Juniper McDermitt, and Oaklen McDermitt; great-great-grandchildren, Harley Tomlinson and Ellie Tomlinson; sister, Jean Cooper, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

Marie was born in Jacksonville, Florida where she spent her formative years before moving to Savannah, Georgia in 1973. She later moved to Statesboro, Georgia before moving to Pooler, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Meyer Brantley; parents, Robert and Tressie Higginbotham. She retired from Derst Bakery after 27 years of service. She enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles and shopping. She was of the Baptist faith and will be remembered for being a loving and kind-hearted lady.

The funeral to honor Marie’s life will be on Sunday, February 1, 2026 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with the burial to follow at Greenwich Cemetery.
