Ellen Powell Morrison

Ellen Morrison passed away on April 4, 2026, after a long illness.

She was born on November 28, 2048. Ellen lived a life defined by compassion, dedication, and love. She proudly served her community as a Respiratory Therapist at Memorial Medical Center, where her skill, care, and commitment touched the lives of countless patients and colleagues. Above all else, Ellen was devoted to her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother. Ellen shared 34 years of marriage with her beloved husband, Jim Morrison, a partnership built on love, resilience, and deep mutual respect.

She is survived by her husband, Jim Morrison; her children, Susan Phillips, James Evans, and Liz (“Betsy”) Taylor; and her grandchildren, Brittany Mitchell, Daniell Evans, Mei Evans, and Eleanor (“Nora”) Taylor. She was preceded in death by her grandsons, Jeffery Mitchell and Liam Taylor. Ellen also leaves behind her great-grandchild, Jake Mitchell, and her great-great grandchildren, Jayce Mitchell and Azaylie Michell.

Ellen Morrison will be remembered for her gentle spirit, unwavering strength, and the deep love she poured into her family and her work. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be 5-7 pm Thursday April 9, 2026 in the funeral home.

Graveside service will be 2 pm Friday April 10, 2026 at Greenwich Cemetery in Savannah.
