Mrs. Ellen B. Vargo, 94, passed away on Sunday, May 18, 2025 at Bryan County Health & Rehab.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Thomas Straub of Guyton, Georgia, as well as her grand-pets, Desi, Darla, and Jake.

Ellie was born in Erie, Pennsylvania and was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, George P. Vargo, her parents, William Evans and Ellen Beatrice Hawthorne Evans, as well as six siblings, Edward Evans, Thelma Brunner, Gerald Evans, Arthur Evans, Earl Evans, and Millie Baxter-Froehlich.  She had been employed for a number of years at Spectrum Control.  She enjoyed cooking, baking, and crafts.  Ellie was an avid chocoholic, was very social and made friends easily, and loved the sunshine in Georgia.

To honor Ellie's life, there will be a memorial service at Burton-Quinn-Scott Funeral Home located at 3801 West 26th Street in Erie, Pennsylvania on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at 1 p.m. with the burial to follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Erie.

Remembrances may be given to Alpha Methodist Church, 5 East Highway 80, Bloomingdale, GA  31302.
