Mr. Elmer Maurice Bland, 91, of Pooler, Georgia, passed away on Monday, August 15, 2022 at Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Fort Stewart, Georgia to the late Elmer and Janie Dasher Bland.  He was also preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Smith Bland.  He served his country in the United States Army and retired from CSX Railroad.  He was a member of the Richard T. Turner Masonic Lodge #116 Free and Accepted Masons.  He was a Shriner, serving in both the Fire Brigade and the Hillbilly Unit.  He was a sportsman, playing high school football, enjoying watching the Bulldogs, and fishing.  He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Pooler.

Survivors include two daughters and a son, Glenda Warren (Gene), Debby Richardson, and Allan M. Bland, Sr.; grandchildren, Chris Warren (Marnie), Brian Warren (Hannah), Allan M. Bland, Jr. (Jackie), and Jaime Bland Watson; great-grandchildren, Maris Warren, Megan Warren, Lainey Warren, Hutton Warren, Kaeleigh  Bland, Kallan Bland, Jackson Bland, Colton Bland, Mason Mock, Brady Watson, and DeLaney Jo Watson, as well as his beloved dog, Eleanor.  The family would like to acknowledge and show appreciation for the love and care shown by his caregiver, Kathy Smith.

The visitation will be on Thursday, August 18, 2022 from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.  The funeral will follow at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with Brother Kenny Harrelson officiating.  The pallbearers will be Chris Warren, Brian Warren, Allan M. Bland, Jr., Hutton Warren, Jackson Bland, Colton Bland, Mason Mock, and Brady Watson.  Burial will follow at Westside Memorial Gardens on Adams Road in Bloomingdale, Georgia.
