Rincon – Eloise Herring Porter passed away June 20, 2022 at the age of 92.  She was born in Savannah to parents, Mr. & Mrs. James Newton Herring.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Blair Porter, Sr.; brothers, Johnny Herring, James Herring, Miles Herring, and Matthew Herring; and sister, Dorothy Herring.

She was a member of Mizpah United Methodist Church and a homemaker.  She was very proud of the arrival of her latest great-grandchild, Porter.

She is survived by her four children, Janie Porter, Marlene Porter Youngblood (Vic), Blair Porter, Jr. (Diana), and Frankie Braswell (Bobby); grandchildren, Kathryn Mills (Peter), Emmalyne Braswell, James Braswell (Ginny), Jacob Jones (Ann), Jason Jones (Allison), Laura Sigwald (Michael), Jimmy Ray Jones (Tara), Sarah Xayaveth (Sent), Wes Youngblood (Amanda), and Kim Grimme (Scott); 23 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren;  brother, William Spencer Herring; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, June 25, 2022 at Mizpah Church with funeral services following at 11 a.m.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
