Eden- Charles Elton Flakes, Sr., 73, died Sunday, July 20, 2014 at his residence.
The Millen, GA native was a retired truck driver of the Baptist faith. He loved fishing and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his father, Elton Flakes; his granddaughter, Gina Lynn Sherrod Ambrose; and step-father, Ben C. Cain.
Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years, Juanita Turner Flakes; loving and devoted mother, Virginia Johnson Cain; children, Martha M. Wills (Dolfe), Linda J. Helmly (Buddy), and Charles Elton Flakes, Jr. " Bubba" (Darlene); grandchildren, John Allen Steed (Theresa), Jacquelyn S. Ammons (Stephen), Holly S. Bradley (John), James Allen Helmly, III "Jamey", Mandy F. Hargrove (A.J.), Kristi F. Nease (Josh), Christopher Charles Flakes, and Ashley Rebecca Flakes (Trey); and 9 great-grandchildren.
Visitation: 1-3 pm Saturday, July 26, 2014 in the funeral home.
Funeral: 3 pm Saturday, July 26, 2014 in the funeral home chapel.
Interment: Rincon Cemetery
