Mrs. Emma Elise Taylor, 89, of Meldrim, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at The Resorts at Pooler.

Emma was born in Gibson, Georgia to the late William Harry Scarboro and Ruby Elizabeth Sammons Scarboro.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ewell Grady Taylor, Sr.; and a brother, Gene Scarboro.  She was a member of the Meldrim Baptist Church and was employed for a number of years at Hardee's in Pooler.  She was an excellent cook and will be remembered for being a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Survivors include her children, Jimmy Taylor (Ann T.), Rev. Ewell Grady Taylor, Jr. (Arlene), and Vera Jane Formby (Harold); grandchildren, Ryan Taylor, Brittany Taylor-Smith (John), Hannah Rebekah Grimes (Timothy), Abigail Faith Taylor, Brad Formby (Lee), Brian Formby (Brittany), and Josh Formby (Monica); several great-grandchildren; brother, William "Buddy" Scarboro (Augustine) and several nieces and nephews.

The graveside funeral and burial to honor Emma's life will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 9, 2023 at Oak Hill Cemetery, Oconee Avenue in Meldrim.
