Obituary

Emory Lee Smith II ("Boog"), 53, of Pooler, Georgia passed away on May 31, 2025.  Born on February 4, 1972 in Roanoke, Virgina, Lee was a beloved brother, uncle, son, and friend.  His sense of humor could keep his family and friends laughing for hours.  He was a kind-hearted, witty, fun, loving, strong, and compassionate man.  Lee graduated from Calvary School in Savannah Georgia.  He went on to study computer science and the culinary arts.  He had many talents and interests including: playing guitar, fixing computers, cooking, singing, camping, fishing, music, research, and supporting loved ones.  He held a special friendship with every member of his family, who he loved dearly.  He had a wonderful gift of encouragement that shined through any situation.  Lee was predeceased by his mother, Jeanette Hope Smith; his father, Emory Lee Smith, Sr.; his brothers James Walker and Joel Walker; and his sister, Thelma Miller.  Lee is survived by his sister, Jeanette Campla; his brother-in-law, Ross Miller; his nephews and nieces, Kenneth Kiser Jr. (Kim), Hope Cole (Daniel), James Walker Jr., Jeanette Miller, Shannan Miller, Kody Kiser, and Samantha Cole.  A private family memorial will be held at Hillcrest Abbey of Savannah, Georgia.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the National Kidney Foundation: https://www.kidney.org/offices/nkf-serving-alabama-georgia-and-mississippi?campaign=497078 Lee will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.  2 Timothy 1:4 "I long to see you again, for I remember your tears as we parted.  And I will be filled with joy when we are together again."
