Obituary

Garden City – Era Belk Parsons, 96, wife of the late William Ovly Parsons, died early Sunday morning, August 18, 2013.
Mrs. Parsons was the oldest charter member of Central Baptist Church in Garden City. She was a homemaker and had a love for flowers and trees. She will be remembered as a good wife, mother, and aunt.
Surviving are her son William F. "Billy" Parsons of Garden City; three sisters, Edna Belk Shuman of Atlanta, Eula Mae Belk Clark of Mascot, Florida, and Rose Belk Rahn of Guyton; several nieces and nephews; and Stevie V. Lee of Stilson who was like a son to her.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Monday at Thomas C. Strickland and Sons Funeral Home in Pooler.
Funeral: 11 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Thomas C. Strickland and Sons Funeral Home in Pooler with Brother Kenny Harrelson officiating.
Interment: Lower Black Creek Cemetery
