Bloomingdale, Ernest C. Grizzard, Sr., 78, passed away on Friday, May 19, 2023.

The Savannah native retired from the US Army and was a current City Council Member for Bloomingdale.  He was also a member of the Richard T. Turner Masonic Lodge.  Ernest was a very outgoing person who loved to talk with everyone.

He preceded in death by his parents, Armon and Nell Grizzard; wife, Helen Grizzard; and siblings, Joe and Tommy Grizzard and Patricia Douberly.

Survivors include children, Ernest Grizzard, Jr. (Sharon), Shane Grizzard (Melissa), and Ruby LeBeau; grandchildren, David Gay (Tiffany), Cohen Grizzard (Caitlin), Cory Grizzard, Matthew Grizzard (Cecila), Autumn Grizzard, and Humberto Guerrero; 5 great-grandchildren, Mayra, Addy, Keeley, Emma, and Kinsley; brothers, Royce Grizzard, Raymond Grizzard; and sisters, Faye Aaron and Marie Roessler.

A visitation service will be held on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, from 5 - 6 p.m. at the funeral home.  The memorial service will follow in the chapel of the funeral home at 6 p.m.
