Mrs. Ernestine Hendrix Miles Tomlinson passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 under the care of Hospice of Savannah at Bryan County Health & Rehabilitation in Richmond Hill, GA.
She was born in Evans County, GA on August 27, 1927. She retired as a Bag Inspector at Union Bag/Camp and was an active member of Chevis Oaks Baptist Church until her health began to fail. She is predeceased by her parents, Rufus & Eula Hendrix, a daughter, Wanda Karen Miles Jernigan, a granddaughter, Rebecca Jernigan, brother, Sammy Hendrix, sister, Nancy Carolyn King, husbands, Leamon Miles and Joe Tomlinson, Jr., step-sons, Charles Tomlinson and Bennie Joe Tomlinson.
Survivors include her daughter, Rosemary Miles; grandsons, Leamon Johnston and Joseph Jernigan; brother-in-law, Donald King; nieces, Donna K. Boyles, Rebecca Tebeau, Paulette Herrington and Angela Cowart; nephews, Rodney King and Sam Hendrix, and friends, Ricky and Phyllis Tyre.
The visitation will be on Thursday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
The funeral will be on Friday at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of the Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home, West Chatham Chapel located at 901 W. Hwy. 80 in Pooler, GA. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery.
