Obituary

Bloomingdale-Mrs. Essie Inez Sumner, 89, passed on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at Jacksonville Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Essie was born in Baxley to the late James Woodard & Lula Turner Holland. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Roy Marion Sumner; sisters, Wilma Googe, Thelma Dahlgren Gladys Rentz and Bobbie Meadows and a brother, Foster Holland. She was a member of Rothwell Baptist Church where she attended the Dell Waters Sunday School Class. She was a homemaker and was a loving grandmother.
Survivors include her children and their spouses, Richard M. & Vicki Sumner, Ron W. & Judith Sumner, Larry C. & Dotty Sumner and Linda & Mark Pritchard; 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Grace Gaskin; brothers, Ed Holland and Johnny Holland and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 5-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
Funeral: 1 p.m. on Saturday at Rothwell Baptist Church located at 216 Rothwell Street in Pooler. Mrs. Essie will lie in state from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the church. Burial will follow at Westside Memorial Gardens.
