Ethel "Susie" Jane Severn nee: Schmidt, 81 and a native daughter of Northbrook, Illinois, passed away unexpectedly on Friday May 14 ^th 2021 in Savannah, GA.

Born October 1 ^st , 1939 in Highland Park Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Bernhardt Friedrich Heinrich Schmidt and Alice Ester Schmidt nee: Musgrave. Proceeded in death by her brothers, Benjamin Theodor Schmidt, Ray August Schmidt, Bernhardt Carl Schmidt Junior along with her sister Alice Ann Beck and granddaughter Jasmine Noelle Hall.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 56 years, Dwight Thomas Severn. Daughters Norma Severn of Guyton, GA and Malissa Hall and husband, Harry of Guyton, GA. Son, Thomas Severn and wife, Jennifer of Austin, Texas. Along with nine grandchildren; Mark, Dominique, Steven, Harrison, Eric, Matthew, Mia, Eevory, Willow and one great-grandson, Ryker. Brother Friedrich Arthur Schmidt and wife Blanche, numerous nephews, nieces and godchildren.

Susie was a cherished wife, beloved mother and adored grandmother and great-grandmother who's joy was to share stories, her passion of gardening, and her love of reading. Her artistic talent, sharp humor and the ability to feel loved and accepted in her presence was gifted to so many over the years. You never left her house without a hug and a meal.
