Mrs. Ethelene "Tapley" Thomas, 94, of Pooler, Georgia passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2023 at her home.

Ethelene was born in Emanuel County and had lived in Chatham County for a number of years.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Webster Watson and Della Lee Carey Watson; husband, William Randolph Thomas; daughter, Sharon Derea Flakes, as well as seven sisters and two brothers.  She retired from Roger Wood Meat Packing Plant and enjoyed dancing and doing karaoke.  She will be remembered for being a fun-loving Grand Mamma who enjoyed a good party, loved babies, and for being a child of God.

Survivors include her children, Jerry Tapley (Dawn), Charlene Spence-Holcomb (Henry), Vicky Shipes, Gregory Tapley, Kim Tapley (Angela) and Terry Tapley (Sherry); nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

The visitation will be on Monday, November 27, 2023 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the funeral home.  The funeral to honor Ethelene's life will follow at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home.
