Mr. Eugene C. "Gene" Redding, Sr., 88, of Bloomingdale, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2025 at his home.

He will be missed by his wife of 63 years, Ruby Louise Redding; sons, Carl Redding (Sharon), Curtis Redding (Richele), and Kevin Redding (Kim); 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; siblings, Evelyn Dowling, Louise Dawson (Billy), Bernetta Thomas (Peanut), and Durwood Redding, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

Gene was born in Hoboken, Georgia and had lived in Bloomingdale for many years.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar Redding and Effie Eugenie Lee Redding, as well as siblings, Effie Mae Strickland, Virginia Strickland, Doris Crews, Elvera O'Berry, J.E. Redding, and Pearl Boatright.  Gene served his country in the United States Army and retired from the ILA Local 2046 in 1999.  He was an active member of Faulkville Baptist Church where he was a Deacon and maintenance man.  He enjoyed  fishing, hunting, and coaching his sons in recreational sports.

The visitation will be on Tuesday, May 6, 2025 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home.

The funeral to honor Gene's life will be on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery.
