Savannah – Mrs. Eula Mae Oliver, 84, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, April 12, 2011.
Mrs. Oliver was a woman of faith who loved to go to church. She was born in Hazlehurst, Georgia but lived most of her life in Savannah. She was a seamstress for the Chatham Dress Company and retired in 1980. She enjoyed flowers and yard work and loved her dog "Effie". She liked family reunions and looked forward to visiting her extended family. She always welcomed her grandchildren with a warm smile and a hug. She was an avid baker and loved to make homemade pies, cakes, and candy. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Helen Bing. Mrs. Oliver will be deeply missed.
Survivors include her daughter, Johnnie Faye Gay; brothers, James (JR.) Beck, Charles Beck; sisters, Betty Howard, Lucille Hazlip, and Reathel Lovett; grandchildren, Daniel (Lisa) Nelson, David (Paula) Nelson, Kenna Wiggins, and Keith Gay; along with 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, April 15, 2011 at the funeral home.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 16, 2011 in the chapel of the funeral home and burial will follow at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery on Dean Forest Road.
