Springfield- Evelyn Axt, 83, died June 23, 2011 at Effingham Hospital.
The Lancaster, SC native was a sitter for the elderly and loved animals, reading, and putting together puzzles. She was a supporter of the Humane Society.
Survivors include children, Doug McManus, Jeryl Blackstock, Rodney Pittman, and Tiffany Axt; sisters, Virginia Fouts and Betty Desdmond; and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation: 3:30 – 4:30 pm on Saturday, June 25, 2011 in the funeral home.
Funeral: 4:30 pm Saturday, June 25, 2011 in the Chapel.
