Everett A. Parks, 79, of Newton (formerly of Georgia) passed away, Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at Sherrills Ford Hospice House.
Born November 4, 1937 in Savannah, GA, he was the son of the late Herbert and Cora Smith Parks.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Parks.
Everett was a member of West Acres Baptist Church in Augusta, GA. He worked for over 37 years with Savannah Electric and Power Company and served in the National Guard.
Everett's hobbies included flying small aircraft, fishing and playing the harmonica. He was a big Georgia Bulldog fan and liked watching Westerns on TV. His family brought him great pleasure. Everett was a caring and compassionate man and will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Grovenstein Parks of the home; daughter, Janet P. Little and husband Scott of Hickory, NC; granddaughters: Ashley Stell and husband Ryan of Concord, NC, LeAnn Moore of Hickory, NC; and great-grandchildren: Emma Kate, Dawson and Maggie Stell.
Visitation will be Saturday, September 16, 2017 from 10 - 11 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.
