Floyd D. Smith

Rincon – Floyd D. Smith, 73, passed away Friday, April 11, 2014 at Hospice Savannah.

The North Carolina native was a member of First Baptist Church of Rincon and a Deacon. He retired from Bradley Plywood and was the owner/operator of Frameworks and Gallery. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Rotary Club for 43 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sherman B. Smith, Sr. and Bertie Beatrice Kirby; brother, Sherman B. Smith, Jr.; and sister, Annie Lou Johnson.

Survivors include his wife, Martha W. Smith; children, David V. Smith, Daniel (Lindsay) Smith, Ginger (Eddie) Pevey; grandchildren, Makaylah and Makenzie Pevey, Lillian Smith; sister, Mary Slaughter.

Visitation will be 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church of Rincon.

Interment will follow in Effingham Memorial Gardens.
