Mrs. Frances Tapley Floyd, 81, of Port Wentworth, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2021, at her home.

Ms. Frances was born in Jeff Davis County, Hazlehurst, Georgia to the late John Tapley and Juanita Riner Tapley.  She was also preceded in death by grandson, John Michael Cothren and siblings:  Johnnie Findley, Georgie "Genelle" Ray, Sammie Tapley, Troy Tapley and Rebecca Stewart.  She was a Christian and attended Little Flock Church as a child.  She retired from AT&T where she was a Long-Distance Telephone Operator.  Following retirement she enjoyed a career in retail as an employee of Charlotte's Corner where her sociable and hospitable personality served her and the business well and where she remained until the store closed.  She was an expert seamstress and crafter who created many beautiful sewing, crochet and quilting projects which she generously shared with family and friends.  Her most enjoyment came from being with her family.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Robert P. Floyd; children :  Thomas G. Cothren (Donna), John Cothren, Farris P. Floyd (Theresa), Robert Jerome Floyd (Rebecca), Sheila Faye Floyd, and Sonya Kaye Farrar (David); grandchildren :  LaTisha Collins (Ben), Jessica Bullard (Cornelius), Gregory Jodrey (Mallory), Kimberly Woodcock, Rebecca Rose Tucker (Chris), Paul Floyd (Heather), Chelsea Floyd, Nicole Davis, Savannah Floyd, Colby Floyd, Samantha Goodman, Joshua Tindle, Jordan Tindle, Olivia Farrar (Joshua W.), Victoria King (Austin); great-grandchildren :  Whitley Collins, Ethan Collins (Carley), Amya Bullard, Neisha Bullard, Junior Bullard, Gregory Shane Jodrey, Jr., Kayleigh Woodcock, Kendall Woodcock, Avery Tucker, Riley Tucker, Riddick Floyd, Slayde Floyd, Emily Thompson, Hannah Thompson, Alexis Harden, Avery-Kate Harden, Elijah Cassedy, Sophia Davis, Brooks Davis, Carter Sikes, soon-to-arrive Hayes Harden, Charlotte Joyce Tindle, John-Austin King, soon-to-arrive Georgia-Kate King; and great-great-grandchild Logan Nicole Collins; siblings :  Kenneth M. Tapley (Maurene), Atha Richert, Aubrey Tapley and Tony Tapley (Karen), as well as a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

The visitation will be on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

The funeral will be on Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with Mr. Gene Hogg delivering the eulogy.  The pallbearers will be Richard Ray, Trampas Ray, Toby Jeffcoat, Ben Collins, Josh Warren, Austin King, Shane Fowler, and Albert Cory.

The graveside service and burial will follow at 3 p.m. at Little Flock cemetery located at 516 Little Flock Church Road, Collins, GA.
