Frances Varnell Mincey, 94, of Pooler, Georgia, went home to be with the Lord on December 6, 2015. She was born in Marlow, Georgia, to Joseph Benjamin and Mary Francis Crosby, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Mincey was a faithful member of Rothwell Baptist Church. She was a quiet spoken role model to all of her family and friends. It gave her great pleasure to raise her children and help raise her many grandchildren. She was an avid Scrabble player who spent many hours playing with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Henry Mincey, daughters Bonnie Gail Mincey, Sybil Burnside and Janell Wall, stepmother Lois Crosby, brother J. B. Crosby Jr., sisters Louise Grovenstein and Rita Crosby. She is survived by her son, Jimmie Mincey (Nancy) daughters Darlene Waters , Wanda Paul (Jack) and son-in-law Bill Burnside, brothers Donald, Bruce (Robin) and Wayne Crosby, sisters Victoria Clemmons, Joyce Smith, Vaughn Williams (GW), Jane Moore, and Reba Bishop (Charles). She is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at Westside Memorial Gardens on Tuesday, December 8, 2015, at 11:00AM officiated by Pastor Devin Bell.
