Frances Tanner Elmore
Port Wentworth - Francis Tanner Elmore, son of the late Frances Lynch Deacy, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 29th.
Tanner graduated from Savannah High and attended Armstrong, and Georgia Tech. Tanner worked for Welding Service Company, Union Camp, and was a 25 year employee of Grumman/Gulfstream. He was preceded in death by wives Jane McMillan Elmore, and Jeanne Matkovich Elmore, and brother Harry Elmore.
He was a WWII Occupation Forces Army Veteran and a retired Senior Master Sergeant from the Air National Guard. He served 32 years in the Armed Services
He is survived by his sons Bill Elmore Sr. (Melanie)-Savannah, Rob Elmore-Dallas, TX; Daughters Nancy MacKrell(Tim)-Austin TX, Marie Hernandez (Manuel)-Kennesaw, GA. He has six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
A private memorial service will be held at the Thomas C Strickland Funeral Home, Rincon, Ga. (912) 754-6421
Remembrances may be made in honor of Mr. Elmore to St. Boniface Catholic Church, 1952 GA Highway 21 S., Springfield, Georgia 31329-5207
