Mr. Frank A. Welding
Bloomingdale – Mr. Frank A. Welding, U.S. Army (ret.), 89, passed away peacefully, April 5, 2012 at his home under the care of Hospice after an extended illness.
Mr. Welding was born on July 24, 1922 in New Brunswick, NJ. He retired from the U.S. Army after serving for 32 years; he was a WWII veteran. He also worked for South College for 21 years. His son, Frank A. Welding, Jr. preceded him in death.
Lives to cherish his memory, his wife of 38 years, Marion B. Welding; son, Michael B. Waters, Sr. (Melody); daughter, Jamie Chumley (Barry); 3 grandchildren, Brittni Schray (Garrett), Michael B. Waters, Jr., Mackenzie S. Waters; 1 great-grandson, Liam Asher Schray; 1 niece, Bridgette Blackmon; 2 great nieces, Michaela and Regan; special friends, Mary Ruth Cetchovitch, Alex Carrells, Hospice care giver, Jill Girard who took special love and care of him and lit up his life with each visit, and many other friends in his local community.
The visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, April 6,2012 at the funeral home.
The graveside funeral and burial to honor Mr. Welding's life will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 7, 2012 at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery located at 1336 Dean Forest Road in Garden City. Father Patrick Van Durme will officiate and Mr. Welding will receive full military honors.
