Ellabell-Mr. Franklin E. Crane, 80, passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at Ogeechee Area Hospice.
Mr. Frank was born in Gwinnett County to the late John B. & Ethel Crane. He was also preceded in death by his son, Tim Crane. He was of the Baptist faith and had attended Ellabell United Methodist Church for the past 30 years. He was a member of the William B. Barnett Masonic Lodge # 187 and the Bryan County Shriners Club. He was employed with the Jacksonville Shipyard for 26 years, and retired from Intermarine Savannah. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah S. Crane; children, Deborah Ebbing (Tom), and Deanie Alexander (Sonny); step-children, Jimmy Cannady (Charlene), Marilyn Page (Tim), Mary Anne Kicklighter (Johnny), and Lennie McGowan; 18 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; sisters, Pat Pitman, Jane Emmitt, and Jewel Standard, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
The visitation will be on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the Ellabell United Methodist Church located at 3113 Hwy. 204.
The funeral will be on Friday at 11 a.m. at the Ellabell United Methodist Church. Mr. Frank will lie in state from 10-11 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow at Lower Black Creek Cemetery.
The family requests that remembrances be given to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 12502 USF Pine Drive, Tampa, FL 33612-9411.
