Obituary

Franklin Eugene"Gene" Monroe was called to his heavenly home on Saturday, May 20, 2017.
Gene was born in Adrian, GA to the late Albert Dewey & Rosa Monroe. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Marilyn Marshburn, and a brother, Lamar Monroe. He was a beloved husband, papa, brother, and a friend to many. He was a manager of Patrick's Market in Bloomingdale for many years, and a partner at T&M Truck Parts in Vidalia before retiring. He was a member of Faulkville Baptist Church and was a former deacon. He loved his family with all of his heart and will be greatly missed. You could always count on him to make you smile.
Survivors include his wife, Sherry Curl Monroe; son and daughter-in-law, Timothy Eugene & Tammy Monroe; grandchildren, Kyle Dewey Monroe, and fiance, Laura Gerrald, Sara Elizabeth Monroe, Katelyn Suzanne Monroe, and Spencer Jackson Monroe; great-grandchildren, Kyleigh, Fysher and Korbin Monroe, Colton and Luke Lawson; step-great-grandchildren, Kagen Saxon and Kaysen Price; siblings, Geraldine & Bill Mitchell, Ray & Sue Monroe, Pauline & Freddie Boxxe, and Billy & Virginia Monroe; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
The visitation will be on Wednesday at the funeral home from 10 until 11 a.m. with the funeral to follow at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Kenny Harrelson officiating. Pallbearers will be Mark Williams, Darryl Williams, Denny Barwick, Johnny Monroe,Tim Shepperd, and Jim McGill. Burial will follow at Powers Baptist Church Cemetery.
