Phillips
September 25, 1976 – May 15, 2022
After a long illness, Freeman "Glenn" Phillips, age 45, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 15 th at his home surrounded by his family and under the care of Compassus Hospice. Glenn was born in Savannah, Georgia and resided in Guyton where he was a member of Countryside Baptist Church. He was an avid sports fan. He loved watching all sports including soccer with his son Tyler, but he beamed while watching his son run during cross country and track. He was a huge Indianapolis Colts fan, and he loved watching them play football. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, especially on their Friday movie night each week. Prior to his illness he worked with Local 96 as a union insulator.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Andrea "Ann" Hickson and Glenn C. Phillips. He is survived by his wife, Jeanie and a son, Tyler; his sisters, Susan Phillips of Bloomingdale, GA; Diane (Mark) Minton of Johnson City, Tennessee; April (Jesse) Scott of Claxton, GA, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 21 st at Countryside Baptist Church prior to the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. A graveside service will then be conducted at Effingham Memorial Gardens in Springfield. Pastor Rick Flowers, Patrick O'Tuel, and Larry Bukowiec will officiate. Pallbearers will be Paul Ashburn, Richard Bush, Josh Homan, Luke Scott, Nathan Scott, and Alan Wilson.
The family would like to thank Compassus Hospice and Talila Clark for the care that was provided to Glenn during his illness.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Countryside Baptist Church Building Fund, 1201 Noel C. Conaway Road, Guyton, GA 31312.
