Guyton – G. Elayne Woods, 78, passed away November 13, 2022 at Memorial Health.

Born in Green Turtle Cay, Abaco, Bahamas on February 23, 1944, she lived many years in Florida before moving to Guyton over 25 years ago.

She accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior at age 8.  She grew up in the church and serving the Lord.  Her greatest joy in life was taking care of her family.  Her grandchildren were the light of her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold Jerome Lowe and Minnie Carolyn Roberts Lowe; brother, Carl H. Lowe; and sister, Merlee A. Key.

Survivors include her husband, John M. Woods; daughter, Jane Woods Pittman (Steve); grandchildren, Johnny L. Ferraro, Heather Pittman Jodrey, Elayna Merlee Pittman, and Jamie Douglas Pittman; sisters, L. Iris Powers and Betty G. Lowe; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 12 noon to 2 p.m. Thursday, November 17, 2022 at the funeral home followed by funeral services at 2 p.m. in the chapel.

Interment will follow in Effingham Memorial Gardens.
