Mrs. Gail Jackson Hughes, 72, of Savannah, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at her home.
Gail was born in Savannah, Georgia and had lived in Pooler, Georgia for many years before moving to Savannah 30 years ago. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred J. Hughes, III of H&H Distributors; her parents, Herbert I. Jernigan and Selma Sills Jernigan; a brother, Terry Jernigan. She was the former owner/operator of Gail Jackson's Window Tinting and Car Cleaning Service and was known for her hard work ethic. She loved old cars, and enjoyed driving her 1976 Cadillac convertible in the St. Patrick's Day Parade. She loved everyone she met and her smile and laugh were contagious. She was a dedicated Christian and a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. To know her was to love her and she will be missed dearly.
Survivors include two sons, Timmy Jackson (Christie) and Billy Jackson (Tonia); grandchildren, Terri-Ann Jackson, Shelby Jackson (Brian), Taylor Conner (John), Hunter Jackson (Brenna), and Meagan Jackson; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Chet Jernigan (Kellie); sister, Janice Bunch; nephew, Blaine Bunch; nieces, Sara Hall, Stacy Eagle, and Summer Jernigan.
The visitation will be on Sunday, February 9, 2025 from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. at the funeral home in Pooler.
The funeral to honor Gail's life will be on Monday, February 10, 2025 at 1 p.m. at St. John's Episcopal Church located at 325 Bull Street in Savannah. The burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
