Bloomingdale-Mrs. Gennie Gibbens, 60, passed away on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at St.
Joseph's Hospital.

Mrs. Gennie was born in Savannah and was formerly employed with the Chatham County
Sheriff's Department as a nurse for 16 years. She was preceded in death by her father,
Harold E. Harris.

Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Michael D. "Sarge" Gibbens; two sons and
daughters-in-law, Michael Gibbens, Jr. and Shannon and Tony Gibbens and Debbie;
grandchildren, Gennie, Tiffani, Chelsea, Daphane and Michael Don, III; mother and
step-father, Doris E. and Ronald H. Goodlin; sisters, Helen, Donna Kay and Sherri;
brothers, Wayne and Terry and a number of nieces, nephews and close friends.

The funeral to honor Mrs. Gennie's life will be at 3 p.m. on Monday, May 17, 2010 in the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Leonard Daugherty officiating. Burial will follow at
Effingham Memorial Gardens located on Hwy 119 between Guyton and Springfield.

Remembrances may be give to Amazing Grace Baptist Church on Hwy 17 in Savannah.
