Clyo – George Wendell Arnsdorff, 72, passed away peacefully December 17, 2020 at home surrounded by his family.

The Effingham County native was a member of Trinity Baptist Church of Springfield where he served as a deacon. He was a graduate of the University of Georgia and member of the Georgia Young Farmers.  He worked as a crop insurance adjuster for Rain and Hail Crop Insurance. He also owned and operated Arnsdorff's Home Inspections and served as Building Inspector for the City of Springfield for a number of years.   At one time he had served as a Supervisor on the Ogeechee River Soil and Water Conservation District. Farming and the outdoors were a very important aspect of his life. He was a very spiritual man known for his gentle spirit and dry sense of humor. He loved spending time with his family and was always thinking of others first.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Laucy Claudine Dugger Arnsdorff and George Tillman Arnsdorff, Jr.; sister, Angelyn Wendelken; and brother, Ross Dugger Arnsdorff.

Survivors include his wife, Cheryl Callaway Arnsdorff; children, Wendy Wilgus (Brian), Amanda Deen (Russ), and Justin Arnsdorff (Kim); grandchildren, Brianna and Claire Wilgus, Miles and Grace Deen, Katelyn and Olivia Arnsdorff; sister, Linda Murray (Gerald); many nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, December 21, 2020 at Effingham Memorial Gardens.

All CDC and social distancing guidelines will be in place and the family requests everyone wear a mask.
