George W. Clifton, Jr.

Guyton- George W. Clifton, Jr., 88, died Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at his residence.

The Effingham County native was a member of the Guyton Masonic Lodge #428, the Alee Shriners, and the American Legion Post #209. He was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran and a retired iron worker with Local #709.

Survivors include his sisters, Mildred Scandlyn of Macon and Nancy Haney of Guyton; brothers, Alex Matthew "Bo" Clifton of Guyton and Richard B. Clifton of Brooklet; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Visitation: 6-8 pm Friday, May 11, 2012 in the funeral home

Graveside Service: 11 am Saturday, May 12, 2012 in Guyton Cemetery.
