Mr. George Michael "Mike" Handy, 61, of Eden, passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at his home. Mike was born in Savannah to the late Elizabeth & Tommie Handy. He was a member of Central Baptist Church, and was a master carpenter. Survivors include his wife, Karen Sue Handy; son and daughter-in-law, Christopher & Chelsea Handy; grandson, Jackson Casto; step-children, John & Randee Fortner, Wendy Fortner, and Chase Fraley; brothers and sisters, Sandra & Harold Giles, Polly & Lew Morris, Delores Floyd, Danny & Viktoriya Handy, and Bobby Handy, and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be on Monday, August 15, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. at Central Baptist Church located at 4010 Old Louisville Road in Garden City. Visitation will be from 12:30 until 1:30 in the church sanctuary. Rev. Kenny Harrelson will officiate. The pallbearers will be Paul White, Eddie White, Eddie Morris, Tracy Brown, John Floyd, John Sharp, and Christopher Handy. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery in Garden City.
