Mr. George Skinner Wingate, Jr.

Pooler-Mr. George Skinner Wingate, Jr. , 69, died on Wednesday, December 26, 2007 at
Candler Hospital after a cardiac arrest.

Mr. Wingate was born in Chatham County to the late George Skinner and Velona
Thomas Wingate. He retired from Gulfstream where he was a tooling supervisor for
many years and retired as a manufacturing engineer and was a member of Savannah
Christian Church. He was a member and past master of the Richard T. Turner Masonic
Lodge # 116 F & AM and he loved to fish.

Survivors include his wife, Grace Sharpe-Wingate of Pooler; two daughters and a
son-in-law, Kathi & Craig Dixon of Rincon and Gale Huggins of Bloomingdale; son and
daughter-in-law, Stanley & Heather Wingate of Pooler; step-children, Craig & Joan
Sharpe of Statesboro and Wade & Jennifer Sharpe of Dublin; grandchildren, Michael &
Justin Prewitt, Lindsay & Kaitlyn Dixon, John & Stephanie Huggins, Zachary Wingate
and Casey & Samantha Sharpe; aunts, Virginia Smith of Pooler, Frankie Caldwell of
Hampton, SC and Eleanor Ashworth of Savannah and several cousins in Georgia and
South Carolina.

Visitation: 5-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

Funeral: 1 p.m. on Saturday in the chapel of the funeral home. Rev. John Smith will
officiate, active pallbearers will be Wendell Smith, John Huggins, Justin Prewitt, Casey
Sharpe, Roy MacMillan and Ted Drouen. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memory
Gardens.
