Pooler- Mrs. Georgia Louise Grier quietly passed away Thursday, March 31, 2016, after an extended illness, she was 80 years old. She was born May 31, 1935, to Fannie and Ulyes Gordon English. She was the oldest of 7 children, Elizabeth Grier, Agnes Brown, Dorothy Oliver, Ulyes G. English, Jr., Lois Miller, and John English.
She was a longtime resident of Pooler, GA, and is survived by her husband of 64 years, Robert Jackson Grier, Sr.; five children, Deborah G. Alldredge (Jesse), Robert J. Grier, Jr. (Tammy), Judy G. Murrell (Gene), Glenda Kay Welsh (Patrick), and Randell S. Grier (Colleen); 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Georgia was a member of South Newington Baptist Church and was a devoted mother, her family was her life. She loved to cook and garden, she could make anything grow, even from the smallest of cuttings. She loved to crochet, do word puzzles, shop from catalogues, watch John Hagee, and listen to gospel music. She left a rich inheritance for her children and grandchildren and she will be greatly missed.
Visitation: 5:30 - 6:30 pm on Monday, April 4, 2016 in the funeral home.
Memorial service: 6:30 pm Monday, April 4, 2016 in the funeral home chapel.
Interment will be private.
Remembrances: Alzheimer's Association.
