Mrs. Georgia Mae Wilson, 84, of Pooler, passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at Memorial Health University Medical Center.
Mrs. Wilson was born in Egypt, GA to the late Leroy & Alyne Morgan. She was also preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Wilson, son, Mark W. Wilson, and siblings, Lavon and Leon Morgan, Bertha Glisson and Linda Gail Altman. She lived in Pooler for 59 years and was a faithful member of Rothwell Baptist Church, attending until her health declined. She retired from Westview Nursing Home after 25 years of service, later becoming a care taker for many families. Her family was the center of her life, she enjoyed cooking and caring for each of them. She was an avid gardener, and in her younger years, enjoyed playing softball for Trinity UMC where she was a star pitcher. She also enjoyed watching and attending her family's ball games.
Survivors include her children and their spouses, Jo Ann (Tom) Nichols, Laquita (Jackie) Wheeler, Michael (Donna) Wilson, Glen (Mary) Wilson, and Barbara (Clarence-deceased) Smiley; daughter-in-law, Lynn W. Wilson; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; sisters, Carolyn (John) Edwards and Nellie Bolton, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Funeral: 1 p.m. Friday in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Gravel Hill Cemetery.
