Port Wentworth-Mr. Gerald "Bubba" Boykin, 78, passed away on Friday, August 21,
2009 with his family at his side.

Mr. Boykin was born in Screven County to the late James and Madie Scott Boykin. He
was a member of the First Baptist Church of Port Wentworth and served his country in
the U.S. Air Force. He retired from Union Camp and was employed part-time with
Budget Rent-A-Car He was Fire Chief for Port Wentworth for twenty-five years and was
a member of the Georgia Fire Chiefs Association. He was also preceded in death by his
son, Jerry Boykin and a grandson, Matthew Moore.

Survivors include his wife, Margie Mixon Boykin of Port Wentworth; daughters, Pattie
Moore (Doug, Sr.) of Port Wentworth, Ellen Padgett of Pooler and Toni Geoghagan
(Stafford) of Port Wentworth; eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; sister,
Geraldine McGraw of Savannah and a number of nieces and nephews.

Visitation: 4-7 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.

Funeral: 2 p.m. on Monday at First Baptist Church of Port Wentworth with burial to
follow at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery on Dean Forest Road.
