Gladys Allen, age 75 of Ellabell, GA, passed away on December 2, 2023.

She was born on February 11, 1948, in Savannah, GA, to Joe Youngblood and Helen Woods Youngblood.  Gladys was a devout Christian, finding solace in reciting scriptures and singing hymns.  She had a great love for animals and was known for her generosity towards her loved ones.

Gladys is survived by her son, Joey Peacock and daughter-in-law, Deirdre Peacock, as well as her granddaughter, Taylor.  She also leaves behind her sisters, Joann Exley and Rachel McBrayer, along with several nieces and nephews.

Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, brother Jerry Youngblood, and sister Phyllis Simmons.

Gladys graduated from Jenkins High School in Savannah, GA and attended Armstrong College.  She pursued a career in medical office work, specializing in insurance, billing, and receptionist duties for several years.

Gladys found spiritual fulfillment in her membership at South Gardens and Bible Baptist of Savannah, GA.  In Ellabell, GA, she attended Olive Branch Baptist Church.  Her faith was an integral part of her life.  Outside of her professional and religious pursuits, Gladys had a great love for her dogs.  She cherished their companionship and enjoyed spending time with them.

A memorial service and burial for Gladys Allen will be held at a later date.
