Guyton – Gladys Helen Owens Jones, 87, passed away October 8, 2024 at her residence.

The Chatham County native was a longtime member of South Newington Baptist Church and a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie P. Owens and Gertrude Woods Sherrod Johnson; brother, Lonnie Owens; and her husband of 72 years, Remer Henry Jones.

Survivors include her children, Mitchell Jones, Mark Jones (Carolyn), and Angie Jones Marsh; grandchildren, Misty Stenmark (Sean), Michael Jones (Danielle), Shannon Jones, and Jeremy Jones (Amanda); great-grandchildren, Kiley, Grayson, McKenzie, Ava, Landon, Jordan, Landon, Lollie, Layla, Christopher, and Haley; siblings, Jerry Sherrod (Elaine), Don Sherrod (Barbara), Mike Sherrod (Marcia), and Linda Shearouse (Lloyd); and a number of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, October 11, 2024 at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, October 12, 2024 at the funeral home chapel.

Interment will follow in Springfield Cemetery Annex.
