Mrs. Glenda K. Grier Welsh, 56, of Pooler, passed away on Friday, November 30, 2018 at her home after a brief illness with lung cancer.
Glenda was born on in Savannah, raised on Quacco Road and had lived in the Pooler and Bloomingdale area for the past 40 years. She attended Tompkins High School and later South College. She was an office manager as well as a CNA before her retirement. She was preceded in death by her mother, Georgia Louise Grier. She loved birds, nursing animals back to health and working in her garden. She enjoyed listening to Pastor John Hagy and loved Ric Flair.
Survivors include her husband, Patrick D. Welsh, Sr.; children, Dana Marie Collins and David Clayton Collins, Jr.; step-children, Patrick D. Welsh, Jr. and Patricia Dana Welsh; ten grandchildren, including Haley Michelle Collins, who Glenda & Patrick were raising; three great-grandchildren; father, Robert Jackson Grier, Sr.; siblings, Deborah Alldredge, Judy G. Murrell, Robert J. Grier, Jr. and Randall S. Grier as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 5-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Funeral: 11 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Bonaventure Cemetery.
