Mr. Gordon R. Cowart, 81, of Ellabell, GA, passed away on Thursday, April 29, 2021 at his home.
He was born in Savannah to the late Jesse and Frances Bell Cowart. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Betty Cowart, two sisters and three brothers. He served his country in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the Olive Branch Baptist Church. He was an auto mechanic and the owner/operator of Cowart's Auto Service. He enjoyed fishing, camping, going to bluegrass festivals and playing the guitar.
Survivors include his children, Betty Mahn, Gertrude Neumans (deceased) (Donald), Donna M. Williams (Larry), Mary L. Robinson (deceased)(Robbie), Minnie Elizabeth Barefield (Jerry), Donald James Harrison (Emily), and Frances Leila Cowart (deceased); grandchildren, Brian Barefield, D.J. Neumans, Joseph Daly, Connie Smith, Jesse Neumans, Jessica Guilford, Trey Simons, Robin Barefield, James "Regi" Harrison, Tommy Sinclair, Elizabeth Todd, Brandon Sinclair, Maria Vallejera, John Dowd, Dustin Harrison, Haley Barefield, and Eli Barefield; brother, Robert Cowart; a number of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
The visitation will be on Monday, May 3 rd from 6 until 9 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home.
The funeral will be on Tuesday, May 4 th at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Lower Black Creek Cemetery.
