Guyton / Port Wentworth – Gracie Smoak Boddiford, 74, passed away Thursday, July 4, 2013 at her residence in Guyton.
The Screven County native was a member of the Port Wentworth U.M.C. where she also served and retired as Church Secretary, was a member of the Amy Exley Sunday School Class, the U.M.W. where she was the past-president, and the prayer shawl group.
Survivors include her husband, Emmett W. Boddiford of Guyton; daughter, Dixie D. Boddiford of Guyton; son, Derrick (Yancey) Boddiford of Savannah; her mother, Verdie Mae Smoak of Sylvania; siblings, Brenda (Donald) Scott of Newington, Linda (Hal) Duensing of Savannah, Debby (Donnie) Lovett of Sylvania, Weyman (Barbara) Smoak of Appling, GA; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Chris) Heddleson, Monica (Jonathan) Collins, Erich (Paige) Williams, Kirbie (Dustin) Arnsdorff; great-grandchildren, Makayla Nettles, Natalie Heddleson, Matthew Heddleson, Paisley Williams; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday followed by funeral services at 2 p.m. in the chapel with Rev. Tom Edwards and Rev. Grable Page officiating. Pallbearers will be Erich Williams, Chris Heddleson, Dustin Arnsdorff, Jonathan Collins, Jeffery Smith, and Bruce Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be the Amy Exley Sunday School Class.
Interment will follow in Springfield Cemetery Annex.
