Obituary

Gregory "Greg" Wendell Brindley, 58, of Pooler, Georgia, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 27, 2023.

Greg worked in the transportation industry for his entire career.  He owned and operated Brindley's Properties Inc. for almost 40 years.  He and his father started by providing commercial maintenance to trucking facilities and grew that into a port-associated warehousing company.  Greg also worked in logistics for 35 years.  In this capacity he was able to spend 25 of those years working alongside his great friend Louis Manigo II.  Greg loved the life he and his beautiful wife Amy had created for themselves and their children Kendal and Kody.  Every day was usually a great day for Greg.  He enjoyed celebrating the weekend with his family and friends by going out for dinner and drinks in downtown Savannah.  Every holiday, in Greg's mind, was a reason to decorate, to celebrate, and to watch classic movies.  Halloween was Greg's favorite.  He loved everything about planning how they were going to decorate the house and lawn each year.  There was always a slate of horror movies to be watched, and costumes to be made for the big night where they would then hand out candy to the neighborhood kids.  Greg loved all kinds of classic movies and television shows.  He could often be found in his movie room rewatching one of his favorites or searching out something new.  He was as astute collector of memorabillia from shows, movies, and concerts, carefully following auction sites that were devoted to such collections.  Once he found a particular item he prized, he would research it extensively before planning his bidding strategy.  Some of his wonderful collection includes iconic costumes from the television shows Bewitched, The Jeffersons, and Sanford and Son.  Greg enjoyed traveling to his favorite places like the Tennessee mountains, Orlando, Florida, and to visit his son Kody and his partner John in Washington DC.  Greg was born April 12, 1965.  He spent his life living in the Pooler and Savannah communities.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Reba Nell and Hoyt Jim Brindley Sr.  Greg is survived by his wife of 33 years, Amy Elizabeth Brindley, and their two children, Kendal Brindley and Kody Brindley (John Deaderick).  He is also survived by his brother, Hoyt Jim Brindley, Jr. "Jimbo" (Karen) and their children, Kyle, Drew, and Casey.

The visitation will be on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home.  The funeral to honor Greg's life will follow at 12:30 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home.  Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
