Guss W. "Russ" Hightower Jr., 71, of Guyton, Georgia, passed away January 6, 2025 at Memorial hospital.

Russ enjoyed gardening, making homemade cane syrup, and most of all, spending time with his grandchildren.  He retired from Chatham County Public Works.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Jan Hightower; his children, Guss W. "Trey" Hightower III (Brandi), Traci McKenna (Dave); grandchildren, Sean Hightower, Presley Hightower, Mason McKenna, Lillian McKenna; sisters, Delane Hand and Sharyn Lyons; and sister-in-law Pam Chapman (J.R.).

The visitation will be on Thursday, January 9th, 2025 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Marlow, located at 2229 Central Avenue, Guyton Georgia. The service to honor Guss' life will follow at 11 a.m. in the sanctuary with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
