Rincon – Gwen B. Simmons, 91, passed away October 12, 2025 at Riverview Health & Rehab.

The Screven County native was a member of First Baptist Church of Rincon and retired from Belk after many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jasper and Clyde Blackburn; son, Gil Simmons; grandson, Chris Simmons; and 11 siblings.

Survivors include her son, Scott Simmons; grandchildren, Roy Trammell and Christy Simmons; great-grandchildren, Brooks and Ava Trammell; and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at Effingham Memorial Gardens.
