Port Wentworth – Gwynn S. Scott, 86, passed away October 23, 2024 at his residence.

The Emmanuel County native retired from the GA Army National Guard after 21 years and from Unocal Corporation.  He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, J.E. Scott and Wessie Sullivan Scott; step-mother, Debby Scott; siblings, Peggy Scott Hagan, Jean Nease, and Joann Hamilton; grandmother, Nora Louise Hiott; brothers-in-law, Roy Ulmer and Jack McCreery; and his beloved dog, Haley.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Ulmer Scott "Patsy"; children, Teresa A. Scott, Mike Scott (Linda), Keith Scott (Barbara); and Craig Scott; grandchildren, Brianne Walters (Scott), Brandi Reyes (Craig), Ash Scott (Rebecca), Dylan Scott (Diana), Michelle Finch Mincey (Lehman), and Hunter Scott; great-grandchildren, Anaston Kersey, Kaydence Reyes, Aiden Reyes, and Olivia; sister-in-law, Gloria Ulmer McCreery; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, October 24, 2024 at the Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home, Effingham Chapel, 2460 Hwy. 21 S., Rincon, GA 31326.

Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 25, 2024 at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
